The National Weather Service in Miami updated the High Surf Advisory for coastal Palm Beach County at 3:21 PM on Saturday, October 24. The advisory remains in effect until 8 PM Monday, October 26, but large breaking waves are now expected to reach 4 to 13 feet in the surf zone, up from 5 to 10 feet in the morning update.
The Weather Service says dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion are possible along the Palm Beach coast while the advisory is in effect.
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water because of the dangerous surf conditions. Swim near a lifeguard, and if caught in a rip current, relax and float rather than swimming against it.
