The National Weather Service in Miami issued a High Surf Advisory for coastal Palm Beach County at 2:47 PM on Friday, October 30. The advisory is in effect from 2 PM Saturday, October 31, to 7 PM Sunday, November 1, with large breaking waves of 6 to 10 feet expected in the surf zone.
The Weather Service says the surf will bring dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. A Coastal Flood Advisory for moderate coastal flooding is also in effect for the same coastline until 8 PM Saturday, and a high risk of dangerous rip currents continues through Sunday evening.
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float and do not swim against the current.
