The National Weather Service in Miami issued a Rip Current Statement for coastal Palm Beach County and coastal Broward County at 1:41 AM on Monday, November 2. Dangerous rip currents are expected through 7 PM Tuesday, November 3.

The Weather Service says rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. The same beaches are also under a Coastal Flood Advisory through Tuesday evening and a High Surf Advisory through Monday morning, with large breaking waves of 6 to 7 feet in the surf zone.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline; if unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
