The National Weather Service in Miami extended a Rip Current Statement for the Miami-Dade County coast at 1:20 PM on Sunday, November 1. A high risk of dangerous rip currents now runs through 7 PM Tuesday, November 3.
The Weather Service says rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float and do not swim against the current. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
