The National Weather Service in Miami issued a Rip Current Statement for coastal Palm Beach County and coastal Broward County at 1:57 AM on Sunday, November 1. A high risk of dangerous rip currents is in effect through 7 PM Monday, November 2.

The Weather Service says rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. The same beaches are also under a High Surf Advisory through Sunday evening, with breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet, and a Coastal Flood Advisory through Monday.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline; if unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
