The National Weather Service in Miami issued a Rip Current Statement for coastal Palm Beach County at 3:19 AM on Friday, October 30. A high risk of dangerous rip currents is in effect through Sunday evening, November 1.
The Weather Service says rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. A Coastal Flood Advisory for moderate coastal flooding is also in effect for the same coastline until 8 PM Saturday.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline; if unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
