The National Weather Service in Miami issued a new Coastal Flood Watch for coastal Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties on Friday, October 23. The watch is in effect from late Saturday night through Monday evening, October 26, and means significant coastal flooding is possible.
The Weather Service says numerous roads may be closed and low-lying property, including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure, may be inundated if the flooding develops, with some shoreline erosion possible. A watch means residents in flood-prone coastal areas should prepare and monitor later updates.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, allow extra time, do not drive around barricades, and do not drive through water of unknown depth.
