Florida Polytechnic University ranked No. 4 nationally and No. 1 among public universities for career outcomes in WalletHub's 2027 College & University Rankings, released Oct. 12. The list evaluated 738 institutions, and the career-outcomes category weighs six measures including return on educational investment, the share of graduates offered full-time work within six months, and median post-graduation salary.

Florida Poly outperformed MIT, Yale, Duke, Harvard, and Princeton in this category — its third consecutive year in the top tier. Its alumni earn an average of $93,600 five years after graduation, the highest in the State University System and 33% above the statewide average. The school also reports record enrollment of 2,300+ students this fall, up 35% over two years, and added new bachelor's degrees in aerospace engineering and biomedical sciences. Note: this is a WalletHub ranking, not an academic-body ranking.

Why it matters

College choice is a big decision for Malayalee families — an in-state STEM option with documented return on investment can beat a much pricier out-of-state admit. Worth a serious look for students eyeing engineering and tech.
