The National Weather Service in Miami issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeastern Palm Beach County on Friday, October 23, in effect until 6:45 PM EDT.
At 6:10 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located over the Port of Palm Beach, or over Riviera Beach, moving north at 5 mph, according to radar. The storm may bring golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. Locations impacted include West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, Palm Beach, Juno Beach, North Palm Beach, Lake Park, and Mangonia Park.
The Weather Service says people and animals outdoors will be injured by the hail, and damage to roofs, siding, windows, vehicles, and trees is expected. Move to a shelter inside a strong building and away from windows, and do not drive through flooded roadways, as torrential rainfall may lead to flash flooding.
