Check the space heater before the first cool night: DREO has recalled about 338,800 of its DR-HSH015 ceramic space heaters because they can overheat and ignite, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday, October 29. DREO has received 17 reports of heaters igniting — three caused property damage and one burned a person's hand.
Only units made between April 2025 and January 2026 are covered; the manufacture date, in YYYY/MM format, is printed on the heater's underside. The black tower heaters, sold with a remote control, were sold at Costco and online at Best Buy, Kohl's, Lowe's, QVC, Home Depot and Dreo's own site from September 2025 through October 2026 for about $70 to $110.
Why it matters: space heaters come out of closets across South Florida as soon as temperatures dip. If yours matches, stop using it, unplug it and cut the cord, then send DREO a photo of the cut cord to receive a free replacement — 833-820-0887 or recallrtr.com/spaceheater.
